Customized Training Program Lengths Available: Half-Day
This half-day highly participatory workshop is designed so that the participants will treat each other in a civil manner because they know how it feels to be on the receiving end of uncivil treatment and what it does to the work environment.
Participants acknowledge the importance of civil behavior and treatment in the workplace; discuss the personal and organizational consequences of uncivil behavior; admit to instances of their own uncivil behavior; analyze the contributing factors, the behavioral choices they made, and the consequences of those choices on themselves, others, and the organization; describe defensiveness chains and their consequences; propose constructive civil behavioral responses they can choose to use in situations which have previously prompted their own rudeness; and establish and commit to a civility code of conduct at their organization.
The workshop includes an opportunity to apply the techniques learned in the workshop in a simulated staff meeting, which includes planning, conducting, and assessing the meeting.
