Building Respectful Work Relationships

Building Respectful Work Relationships

We believe in workplaces where respect and cooperation flourish. Our Building Respectful Work Relationships workshop helps participants discover the importance of teaching people how to treat them by modeling the behavior they seek from others. We don’t believe in waiting for change—we create it by starting with ourselves.

Self-Respect is Key

This workshop begins by emphasizing the importance of self-respect. We believe that how you treat yourself sets the tone for how others treat you. If you don’t respect and accept yourself, why should others? Through this workshop, participants will learn how to embrace and model self-respect as the foundation for healthy interpersonal relationships.

Modeling Positive Interpersonal Behaviors

If you want to be treated with respect, you must first model it in your own interactions. In this workshop, participants will learn how to:

  • Listen well: Active listening fosters mutual respect and understanding.
  • Express thoughts and feelings clearly: Open, respectful communication is essential to avoid misunderstandings.
  • Handle negative feelings constructively: Managing difficult emotions without damaging relationships is key to maintaining respect.
  • Be authentic: Genuine, transparent interactions build trust and foster respectful work environments.

These skills are more than just theoretical. We believe in hands-on practice. Through participative exercises, participants will actively develop and practice these interpersonal behaviors to ensure they can create healthier, more respectful working relationships.

Building a Cooperative Work Environment

A comfortable, cooperative workplace doesn’t happen by accident. It is built by individuals who respect themselves and others. Feedback

I loved representing each step by building a small bridge with guard rails. What a great way to remember how to build a respectful work relationship!

High energy-pulls everyone in. Handles awkward, inappropriate, hard-to-understand questions well.

Customized Training Program Lengths Available: One-Day

This one-day skill-building participant-centered workshop is designed to enable participants to recognize that if they want to work in a comfortable and cooperative environment, then they need to realize that they can “teach” people how to treat them. This begins with learning to respect and accept themselves- because if they don’t, why should anyone else? Then, if they want to be treated with respect, they need to model the interpersonal behaviors that they want others to use with them: (1) listen well; (2) express thoughts and feelings clearly; (3) constructively handle negative feelings; and (4) be authentic. This participatory workshop will give participants an opportunity to develop and practice these behaviors, so that they can create healthier and more respectful working relationships.
