Technical Trainer's Toolbox

Overview of the Technical Trainer’s Toolbox Workshop: Elevating Your Training for Technical Learners

We believe in equipping trainers with the right tools for success. The Technical Trainer’s Toolbox workshop is a two-day, immersive experience designed specifically for experienced technical trainers. This workshop gives you the skills and strategies to plan, structure, and deliver effective training programs that engage learners and lead to demonstrable results. We don’t believe in leaving trainers unprepared—this toolbox gives you everything you need to succeed.

What You’ll Learn in the Workshop

This interactive session focuses on practical tools and methods to enhance your technical training. Throughout the workshop, you will:

  • Plan and structure your training programs to ensure all essential content is covered within the appropriate timeframes.
  • Design engaging activities that keep learners involved and demonstrate clear learning outcomes.
  • Motivate learners to apply their new skills in the workplace while preparing them to address potential barriers.

We believe in hands-on learning. You’ll actively apply each step of the lesson design process to your own training material. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a fully developed lesson plan and one or more interactive learning activities that are ready to implement. We don’t believe in passive learning—real results come from putting these tools to work.

Why This Workshop Stands Out

We believe in using research-backed techniques. This workshop leverages proven strategies supported by adult learning theory, specifically geared toward technical topics. You’ll leave with decision-making tools that enhance learning and retention, ensuring your technical training is both effective and engaging. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all training—this workshop helps you tailor your approach for maximum impact.

Bring Your Own Content for Real-Time Application

We believe in learning that’s directly applicable. You’re encouraged to bring your own training content and laptop to the session. This allows you to apply what you learn in real-time, customizing your lesson plans and interactive activities to your specific training needs. We don’t believe in theory alone—practical application is what makes learning stick.

At Laurel and Associates, Ltd., we believe that technical trainers deserve practical, research-backed tools to elevate their training programs. Our Technical Trainer’s Toolbox workshop is designed to give you everything you need to engage your learners, improve retention, and drive meaningful learning outcomes. Because we believe that great training starts with the right tools.

  1. Identify Training Goals: By defining what your participants should know or do by the end of your training session.
  2. Determine Key Content: By pinpointing the essential information required in your training you can then meet your training goals .
  3. Set Learning Levels: Decide the depth of understanding or skill required at each stage.
  4. Write Learning Objectives: By creating clear, measurable objectives for your participants to achieve.
