What You’ll Learn

In this workshop, you’ll gain actionable skills and proven strategies:

  • Develop participant-centered lesson plans that engage learners from the start.
  • Techniques to change attitudes and overcome resistance, making learning memorable and transformative.

We’ll equip you with practical tools, based on the UCLA Mastery Teaching Model and accelerated learning principles, so you can accelerate change and create training that leaves a lasting impression.

For New and Experienced Trainers

  • New Trainers: Learn the essentials of developing effective lesson plans, designing interactive activities, and enhancing your facilitation skills. You’ll create content that meets the diverse needs of adult learners.

  • Experienced Trainers: Stay ahead of the curve with the latest techniques for changing attitudes. You’ll gain fresh insights into classroom challenges and solutions, while exploring new learning activities that make training more effective.

Designing and Delivering Attitude-Changing Learning

Day One: Understanding Resistance to Change

You’ll dive into why people resist change and explore strategies to reduce that resistance. Using Bloom’s taxonomy with a focus on the attitudes domain, we’ll discuss how to use learners’ past experiences to create a positive learning environment.

Day Two: Creating Lesson Plans

In this session, you’ll work through the first three steps of designing a lesson plan. You’ll conduct a needs assessment, identify clear goals, and create focused learning objectives.

Day Three: Finalizing Lesson Plans

Complete your lesson plan by selecting activities, creating an agenda, and developing strategies to evaluate effectiveness. You’ll also receive feedback on your assignments to fine-tune your plans.

Day Four: Designing Learning Activities

Explore various learning activities like role plays, case studies, and hands-on exercises. You’ll practice incorporating accelerated learning techniques that are both engaging and effective.

Day Five: Final Presentation and Feedback

On the final day, you’ll facilitate an interactive learning activity that you created. You’ll eceive valuable peer and facilitator feedback, and take home a recording of your presentation for further review.
