This Tip intoduces a variety of words, phrases, and new acronyms that were unfamiliar to me and may be unfamiliar to you as well.

Just for fun, I’ve been collecting words, phrases and acronyms . These caught me off guard because I didn’t know what they meant! As an English major, I pride myself on my vocabulary. That pride is now somewhat tarnished!
Words, Phrases and New Acronyms
See if you have met any of these before:
- Chaordic: [said of a system, organization or natural process] governed by or combining elements of both chaos and order
- Cognitive bias: the result when heuristics fail to deliver the expected outcome.
- CXO: global business executive
- ESG: environmental, social and governance [related to sustainable socially conscious investing]
- EVP: employee value proposition
- F.I.E.R.C.E.: flexibility, intentionality, emotional intelligence, realness (authenticity), collaboration, engagement [core dimensions of leadership agility]
- FOBO: fear of a better option
- FOMO: fear of missing out
- FOSO: fear of speaking out
- Frunk: trunk under the hood [in electric cars]
- Heuristics: mental shortcuts, essentially the brain’s way of automating repetitive tasks and decisions.

- Non-veridical- not true or genuine
- Petrichor- earthy smell when rain hits the ground.
- Productionalizing: making a software prototype ready for production
