This Tip is a Christmas poem about the desire to light candles of joy, hope, courage, peace, grace and love to last all year.
A great attitude does much more than turn on the lights in our worlds. It seems to magically connect us to all sorts of serendipitous opportunities that were somehow absent before the change. Earl Nightingale
There is too much pain and misery in the world today. It may seem hard to keep hope and love alive. There is a lot to crush the spirit and the belief in ourselves. May you always have the strength of will, generosity of spirit and physical health to use your gifts to make a positive difference in the lives of those you touch.
I love candles in every season. I also love poems. So this poem speaks to me. We want to touch the light in others, to see the light go on in the eyes of our training participants, to spread the light of learning wherever we go.
Light Candles This Christmas
I will light candles this Christmas
Candles of:
joy, despite all sadness,
hope where despair keeps watch.
courage where fear is every present,
peace for tempest-tossed days,
grace to ease heavy burdens.
love to inspire all my living,
Candles that will burn all the year long.
Howard Thurman
We’ll see you in 2011.
May your learning be sweet.
